A retired Las Vegas showgirl walks into a bar….in the middle on the Vegas’ worst economic downturn…… she drops the headress, the semi-precious jewels, kicks off the fishnets and thinks, “Okay, this will pay the bills for now. At least they won’t make me step on a scale once a week…..”
I am a foodie. And a wino. And an avid collector of cook books and cooking magazines. When I get bored or can’t sleep at nights, I rifle through my collection like a librarian amid the stacks.
For years I wondered what I would do with myself when I finished my dance career, I shouldn’t have researched, I should have just acknowledged. I might have been a bit more prepared for what I call work these days…..the brewhouse.
My restaurant server job leaves me shaking my head more days than not. I would rather laugh about the job than cry over it. Blogging enables me to see the funny side of the most painfully uncomfortable situations. “Dinner and a Show” for instance, I swear, that really happened to me. And I love to talk about food…now that I can actually enjoy it.
My words are about work and friends and cooking for friends and better times ahead. I will write about life in Vegas, a few pull-ups, my furry beast and making sure in the end I am laughing my way through it all. So pretty much, I’m making this up as I go.
A retired Las Vegas Showgirl walks into a bar……too bad I wasn’t smart enough to duck.
